John Derek Bishop

The international duo consisting of the Norwegian live sampling artist John Derek Bishop and the Austrian pianist Simon Oberleitner brings together two outstanding musicians from the international improvisation scene. Both have already impressed the international press in a variety of projects, including Jazzmagazine France, Mojo Magazine, Jazzwise and Jazzpodium.

Merging time-honored traditions from jazz and classical music with contemporary forms of electronic music and avant-garde, the groundbreaking duo enters into a cross-border dialogue and creates its own unique universal aesthetic. Elements from works of classical music and jazz grow into large improvisational structures and find their lasting resonance in them. Everything is created live.
